Hermes IMS helps resellers and repair shops track inventory and profit. This page explains what we store, why, and what you can do about it.
What we store
- Your account: your email address, an optional name, and your password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash; nobody at Hermes can see them.
- Your inventory: the items, bins, categories, platforms, parts, costs, sale and shipping details, and notes you enter, and one photo per item if you add one. Photos are stored privately; only you can see them.
- If you connect eBay: your eBay user ID and username, an encrypted access key that lets Hermes read your eBay orders, and details of the listings and sales it imports (order and item numbers, title, SKU, condition, eBay category, listing photo link, prices, fees, shipping label costs, ad fees, refunds, ship date, carrier, and tracking number). Hermes does not store your buyers' names or addresses, and it can't list, change, or end anything on eBay.
- If you use the blog: the posts you like (only you can see your likes; others see a total) and your comments. Comments are public, shown with your name from Settings (or “Hermes user” if you haven't set one), never your email address. You can delete your own comments at any time.
How we use it
Only to run Hermes for you: to show your inventory and profit, to sign you in, and to send account emails such as sign-up confirmation. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share it with anyone except the services below that run Hermes.
We also count visits with Google Analytics, to see how many people use Hermes and which pages they use. It records the pages you open (never what you enter on them, and never your email address), along with general details like your browser, device type, and rough location, and uses cookies to tell visits apart. Google's use of this data is covered by its privacy policy. Browser add-ons that block trackers also block Analytics; Hermes works the same either way.
Services that run Hermes
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in, and item photos.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores encrypted nightly backups, which are deleted after 30 days.
- Resend sends account and billing emails, and the optional emails you choose in Settings → Emails.
- eBay, only if you choose to connect your eBay account.
- Google Analytics counts visits and page views (see above).
Your choices
- You can edit or delete any item at any time.
- You can disconnect eBay from the eBay page; Hermes deletes its eBay access key straight away. If you close your eBay account, eBay tells us and we delete your eBay connection automatically.
- To delete your Hermes account and all its data, or to get a copy of your data, email zach@ztech-data.com. Backups that contain it are gone within 30 days.
